ADHD Assessments
Struggling to focus, stay organised, or feeling like your brain works differently from others?
You’re not alone, and getting clarity starts here.
If you've been wondering whether ADHD might be playing a role in how you think, feel or function day-to-day, an ADHD assessment can be an important and empowering step.
I offer thorough, evidence-based assessments for adults looking to better understand themselves, with a warm, non-judgmental approach that puts your comfort and clarity first.
In-person and Telehealth options available.
Why an ADHD Assessment Might Be the Right Next Step
Many adults go through life undiagnosed, often feeling like something’s just a little different, or that everyday tasks feel harder than they should.
If you find it hard to concentrate, stay organised, manage time or motivation, or if you’ve been told you might have ADHD but never felt sure, this is a safe space to explore that.
An ADHD assessment goes beyond diagnosis to provide a deeper understanding of yourself, making sense of things that may have felt confusing or frustrating for years, and finding a clearer path forward.
The Real Impact of ADHD
For many clients, an ADHD diagnosis illuminates lifelong patterns and opens doors to:
-
Career adjustments that align with your cognitive strengths
-
Relationship improvements as both you and loved ones understand your needs
-
Customised organisational systems that work with your brain instead of against it
-
Self-compassion that replaces years of negative self-talk

I Approach Diagnosis Holistically
Not everyone who completes an ADHD assessment receives an ADHD diagnosis, and that’s okay.
Even when ADHD isn't the final outcome, you'll still receive a comprehensive report with a clear explanation of your experiences. This includes a clinical formulation that outlines the key psychological, social and developmental factors contributing to your current challenges.
Sometimes, what looks like ADHD may be better explained by other conditions like anxiety, depression, or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Rather than giving you a simple yes or no answer, I take a broader view of your mental health to help you make sense of what you’re going through, whatever the outcome.
At the end of the process, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of yourself, along with practical guidance and treatment recommendations.
What Does an ADHD Assessment Involve?
Every assessment is tailored to you, but here's what the process usually looks like:
-
Initial consultation: We'll start with a detailed conversation about your history, current challenges, and what’s led you to seek an ADHD assessment.
-
Evidence-based tools: I use structured interviews and psychological testing to explore areas like attention, impulsivity, time management, and emotional regulation, helping us understand how ADHD may be showing up in your day-to-day life.
-
Professional interpretation: As a registered psychologist with training in both counselling and clinical assessment, I approach the results with care and clinical insight to provide meaningful clarity.
-
Clear outcomes: You’ll receive a comprehensive written report, and if criteria are met, a formal diagnosis. We’ll go through everything together, and I’ll support you in understanding what it all means.
-
Ongoing care options: If you'd like ongoing therapeutic support after the assessment, I can also help with this.
Assessments typically take place over two sessions (plus time for scoring and report writing).
Why Work With Me?
I’m a psychologist with dual qualifications in Clinical Psychology and Counselling, and I’ve worked across a wide range of mental health settings, including Headspace, Epworth Hospital, and local government.
I bring both a clinical lens and a deeply human, relational approach to my work. My aim is to make the process feel thorough, supportive and empowering, never clinical or cold.
I’ve supported many clients with ADHD, not just through assessment, but in ongoing therapy as well. I understand ADHD as more than a list of symptoms. I see it as a neurodevelopmental difference that impacts the whole person, and I’m here to help you feel seen, understood, and supported.
I'm also active in the wider mental health space, contributing to events and education around ADHD, racial identity, and community wellbeing. Whether you've never told anyone about your ADHD suspicions or you've done years of research and are finally ready for clarity, I'll meet you with empathy and expertise.

Culturally Responsive
ADHD Assessments
At Insession, I take a culturally sensitive and identity-informed approach to every ADHD assessment.
Your cultural background, upbringing, and the expectations placed on you may have shaped how your symptoms show up, or how well they’ve been masked. For example, you may have learned to overcompensate for inattention or impulsivity because of high academic or social pressures. Or you may have felt the need to suppress certain traits to meet cultural expectations around behaviour, gender or success.
These factors can influence how neurodivergence presents, particularly in communities that are underrepresented or misrepresented in clinical research. That’s why I assess every diagnostic criteria with care, considering how culture, socialisation and masking may impact your presentation, especially if you're from a culturally diverse background.
This approach ensures that your assessment is not only accurate, but also truly reflective of you as a whole person.
